Image description (from the artist): A triptych. On white fabric, there are three horizontally aligned squares. There is a thick black border around each square. The white fabric beyond the border is cut into a zig-zag pattern, reminiscent of a stamp. All of the lines are stitched by a sewing machine with black thread. The first square shows the hands of someone writing a letter. The hands are wrinkled and the writer wears a diamond ring on her left hand. The writing on the letter is hard to decipher but vaguely resemble words. The second image shows the arm of someone wearing a puffer jacket. They slide an envelope into a red British post box. The post box has red stitching to define the color. The third image shows someone holding the envelope. On the left top corner of the envelope is a sticker with “AIRMAIL” written on it. The writing on the envelope reads “Ms. Wardrop / 920 Harvard Lane / WILMETTE / 60091 Illinois”. On the right top corner is a rendering of a British stamp with the Queen depicted.
Image description 2: The artwork that is embroidered onto a white and black cloth is depicting someone writing a letter. The persons hands look slightly older and the person who is writing the letter is wearing a wedding ring. In the image to the right of that, it is a red mail box, with an arm coming from the left side, putting the letter (written in the first photo) into the mailbox. In the last photo all the way to the right, it is younger hands holding onto the envelope that the letter was mailed in with an address and stamp on the front of it.
